There’s been so much to question over the past couple of years with COVID upending lives. The disruption has been profound and the impact on people’s careers has seen many wanting to look for a change or perhaps more importantly, something truly meaningful.

Moments of significant change don’t happen often and the right timing to grab them are rare. But I had an opportunity for change in my career and I’d like to share my story as I’ve found happiness in helping individuals secure their future.

If I take you back to 1993, I was an Engineer, quickly moving up the ranks of an MNC. The job stability was good, but I found myself needing something more to make of myself. I chanced on the opportunity for an interview in the Financial Services industry.

I recall the interviewer asking what my aspiration was. I responded that I wanted to run my own business. What I heard next has guided my career since – “To run a successful business, first you must be good in what you are doing and always think in the best interest of your clients”.

These words of wisdom have since become part of the guiding principles of Advisors’ Clique, which all my colleagues in AC live by.

Over the years, I’ve learnt that while getting started in Financial Services is straight forward, the most successful in the industry have been those who are consistent in investing in people and bringing their best version of themselves to the job.

This has helped me stay actively interested in my clients, ensuring they are well protected and that their wealth has grown. In turn, I have also grown with them and we’ve built many long-lasting relationships.

Now, my focus is on grooming more financial consultants and future leaders of the business, all the while keeping in mind the advice which has served me so well in my career.

If you’re considering a career change and the Financial Services industry is of interest, please get in touch. We’re looking for people with an entrepreneurial mind, a desire for self-breakthroughs and a desire for a lasting and meaningful career.

“Whatever you do, do it well. Do it so well that when people see you do it, they will want to come back and see you do it again; and they will want to bring others and show them how well you do what you do.”
